ae92 short shifters

does any reputable company manufacture short shift kits for the ae92?

i am really hating the long throw of my shifter. although it has been cut, everytime i slap it into another gear it seems as if i am rowing a dreaded boat

now i ask for a reputable manufacture because some short shift kits are known for breaking...due to design flaws, poor material choice and bad geometry(yes, this has a factor to shifter breakage).

maybe trd makes one? or something?

why did toyota give us 4wheel disc brakes, front and rear sways, an oil cooler and a "high performance" 1.6L only to have us use a truck shifter?

AE86 is the "truck" here compared to AE92...

IMO the seating position and steering from the 92 feels more comfortable and sporty, its entire dash and steering wheel sits lower than the 86

anyway TRD does make a short shifter for the 92, and occasionally some ppl on club4ag sell shifters for 92

I prefer the long stick Shifts are accurate and the stick is in a good angle for me ergonomically. The throw isnt that bad really plus I can throw it into gear faster than a sequential

I have a short throw shifter in the MR2, and when I went to test drive an AE86 it felt like the Suzuki Jeep I drove in cuba...and thats definetly not a good thing.

I dont ming longer throws, but it feels mushy and sometimes i cant even feel it 'slot' in...seeing as theres no performance budget for the corolla, im gonna break out the hacksaw.

Hacking the stick wont make it feel any less mushy. You need to replace the bushings and the cup where the ball is if you want to make it firm.
