USA 2003 Corolla Le

Hello, I recently purchased a Corolla 2003 LE for my daughter from a used car dealer in Hialeah Fl I have come to realize that #1 their is no horn under the hood just a hanging wire harness and a tapped ground wire.
Also the #2 rear window defogger does not work all fuses have been checked and all is good #3 Outside temperature gauge located next to the odometer works ocassionally and has inaccurate temperature readings like -30 when its 90 degrees. any sugestions ?? Thank you Johnnysouth

Take the car back to the dealer. I believe that to sell the car, the car has to be street legal, and since you have no horn, it is not.

(atleast in NJ, you need a horn to pass inspection)

not sure about the defroster.

Becareful!!

DOUBLE check your paper work and make sure the car was not sold as IS!!! If the motor still run strong and has good brakes and good tires.....if so, I think you got a good deal!

clean the thermometer, it's behind the front grille.

Adding a new horn is a $10 project but I agree that to be street leagal it should have been sold with a horn.

The rear defrost button may be unplugged, but most likely you missed a bad fuse.
Check fuse 29 which is under the steering wheel, as well as 37 which is under there also and most likely the cause.
Your owners manual will point you to the fuse number locations.
