Where to buy a denso pcv valve for 01 corolla?

Hey guys I havent been here in a long time. Im at 7yrs and 85k miles now. I put in new denso iridium spark plugs and Ive ran seafoam through the gas to clean the injectors and in the crankcase to clean out the varnish. I recharged the k&n air filter, and my 195/60 tires were worn so I got new 185/65's installed and properly inflated, plus Ive been running 5w30 havoline for a long time too yet after all this my mileage is still down to 29mpg from the usual 33mpg. All I can think of is to try replacing the pcv.

EDIT: BTW I see I forgot to mention that I also cleaned the maf sensor.

Ive looked at many places to buy one and the only one that Ive found who has it so far is the dealer and they want a whopping $54 for it so please tell me where you know to buy one for a good price. The only places Ive found with good prices are non OEM pcv's like novo brand ect, which I dont want. Im not finding any on ebay either.

Do a few simple checks on your PCV first. Take it out and shake it. It should rattle. Blow air into the valve cover side, air coming out the hose side? Does it let air through when blowing the other way? It should not. If these tests pass, clean it up and stick it back. Now run another tank and check your mpg.

EDIT: Did you try asking this at Corolland?

be careful with the PCV valve.

When I tried to take mine oput, I totally stripped the threads that the Valce went into. I could not get the enw one in, and was able to get the old one back in, and left it at that.

I have 50,000 miles, should I just take it to toyota?

A lot of places are doing reformulation of gasolines including 10% Ethanol. Ethanol and some of the other formulations hurt gas mileage.

I took it out and checked it and the hose then cleaned it. Thing is it blows through both nipples freely. When I cover one nipple and blow or suck through the other there is no leak though regardless of which one I try and the pcv does rattle when I shake it hard.

If I cant find a new OEM pcv for cheaper than $54 then I'll just leave this one in unless I ever have a pcv error code pop up.

Ah hah. The dealer was quoting me the price on a vacuum valve instead of the pcv which is only around $10 from them. No wonder the price was so high. I was also given a site that sells oem pcv's for around $4. http://www.1sttoyotaparts.com/

I ordered one from the dealer for $5. In case anyone in the future wonders where the pcv is on a 01 corolla and see's this thread its screwed into the valve cover located at the top corner of the drivers side/back side of the engine facing the fender and you can get it out with a long 21mm socket. My short socket wasnt deep enough with the wrench stuck in all the way but I still got the pcv out with the wrench stuck into the socket just enough for the socket to reach the pcv and turn it lose. The pcv part #'s available for the 01 corolla are either 1220422050 or 1220422040, mine was the 22040.
