someone suggested I use 3M double sided tape, also how hard is it going to be to get the glue off the door, any suggestions on how to manage that?

probably sanding.. I have some double sided tape that I used for a few things, it's strong shit and it adhered the eyelids to the headlights on my Accord pretty tight.

Also the shop thad did my car used double sided tape, and I noticed my 89 GTS had the same thing on the molding when I "borrowed" it to put on the 90 GTS at the shop.

nah I found out they make solvent that will take if off and not eat the paint ... My only problem now is finding red moulding... I don't want to paint it so I am looking for one off a gts, not sure if the sr5's had painted moulding, but then again some of them had painted bumpers.
