Question front wheels misaligned on 98

I'm looking at buying a reposessed 98 corolla sedan std 150,000KM... funny thing is front tires are bald only on inner half, like the front wheels are misaligned... I thought they were pretty well top engineered and could take lots of neglect... what would the previous owner have had to have done to the car to have that happen??

from what I can see from the consumer guide or lemon aide, this is not a common fault for these vehicles... any clues???

thanks
julie

if it h as 150,000km on it... it is possible that the owner never had an alignment done... it's not uncommon for the car to go out of alignment

also what mat be likely... is that the tires weren't rotated properly... and never checked for proper air pressure... this would end up with funny tire wear too

my advice is to have it checked out by a qualified mechanic that you trust anyway before buying ANY used car

if you live in the Westend GTA I know of a very good mechanic I could send you to with the car

Unhappy outer half is bald, not inner

it was the outer half that was bald... but I guess the same idea applies? no alignment, no rotation and some neglect in the 5 years it's been on the road?

thanks for the reply bz, I'm in NS, so GTA is a ways away...
