I wish I could give you exact RPMs, but on my 4spd with overdrive, 65 can't be over 3 grand. She just purs like a kitten. Heck, my Corolla doesn't start acting right until 70+mph. At 80mph, the gerbals start to make a little noise, but I've yet to make them scream for mercy, even at 95mph.

The closest I could compare it to is 95mph in top gear sounds about like 45mph in 3rd gear. They're making some noise and you don't have a lot more left before another gear would be needed. BTW... I can hit 60-65mph in 3rd before my balls shrink and I slap it into 4th. I think I hit the electronic limiter once around 70mph.

Sorry for the subjective comparison. Man, I need a Tach!

yea i need a tach... i'm just curious to know how much of a strain there is on my engine at typical highway speed of about 80-85 (i live in jersey... we're assholes)

and since this car is a 3 speed its a damn joke... i know it can go over 110 (barely), and i also know rev-limiter in first is about 45mph, in 2nd its about 70, and not sure in 3rd cuz the speedo only hits 110..

so does anyone have any help?

also does anyone know wtf the rev limiter is on an 01?

Hmmm... Either I need to check my car, get a darn tack or have my head checked. LOL! Blasted CRS.

Hey man, I'm familiar with Jersey drivers. I spent a spell across the river from NYC in Secaucus, NJ.

Maybe this will help... rev limiter??

75 with the 4-speed is about 2,750 RPMs. 80 is 3K, more or less. 65 is down around 2-2.5K, I can't recall offhand.

The RPM limiter is NOT the MPH limiter. 112/115 mph at the cutoff translates, in OD, to a lazy 3,400 or so RPMs, with a good two thousand revs to go. The limiter is 5,400 on the automatic 4-spd (about 95% sure) and the last-ditch automatic shift point is set just shy of that at 5,200.

No. It might take an extremely long stretch of flat and straight road, but I'd estimate top speed based on aerodynamics as probably somewhere around 130.
