Question electrical problem?..or alternator?

ok like 4 days ago i get into my car to go somewhere i put the key in the ignition turn it and nothing happens...i try again and still nothing...and i did not leave anything on inside the car for the batterie to be dead the night b4.
so i get one of my friends to give me a jump...and it starts right up..ok..so i go somewhere turn of my car..come back out later and it starts up without a jump..so te next day i wanna go somewhere else ok so i get in my car turn the key and it starts up..ok..its good all day sun. aug.5 2007 no problems at all...so the next day(mon.aug.6.2007) i go somewhere else starts right up again when i put the key in the ignition...ok so i go whereevr i was going park the car..
come back out 5 min. later..put the key in the ignition and theres nothing at all doesnt even click when i turn the key..ok so i call my friend to give me a jump...ok i go to that persons house and while im driving ovr there..i see my stereo system go out and my rpms drop to 0 but just for a sec. or 2...so i get ovr to my friends house and i decide i had enough of this crap now that it is starting to die while i drive...so we take my friends vehicle to auto zone to get me a brand new batterie ok so i get one go to my friends house put it in...starts right up no problem...ok so we chill for like 2hrs. i go to my car put the key in the igniton turn it and it does nothing not even a clicking sound...just lights in the dash...so he gives me a jump and i leave...so i thought since it was a new batterie that if i drove around for a little bit the alternator would charge it ok i was driving around for like half an hr. go home turn off my car..just to see if it would start up once i shut if off i turn the key to start it up and it is completly dead....this time the lights on the dash are there but not as bright...the thing i dont get is how one day it runs fine and the next its crap?...anyone have advice
on what the problem is...Thanks.

Next time it doesn't start, try running a temporary ground wire from the negative battery terminal to the engine block and see if that helps. If it does, you obviously need to replace a ground wire some where.

What kind of car was this?

That to me sounds like the battery terminal was lose, or the battery is not charging properly due to the alternator failing.
