Question CV joint issue??

I think my right (passenger side) CV joint went bad. When I make right turns while accelerating I have severe viberation. I don't have any clicking like the classic symptoms but it's bad. Just wondering if anyone else had the same issue or fix.

I'm going to replace the right side CV joint; any tips on replacing.

Silly question...If the CV joint/boot went bad on the driver side, would I still get viberation turning right? The CV boots still stretches whether I make left turns or right.

94 Geo Prizm with 1.8 150k miles

Thanks

The passenger side CV joint is the easier one to replace. Use the advance search feature of this forum or the Corolland forum and you can fnd many messages about CV joint replacement adventures. If you have done this before, you shouldn't have any problem. If you haven't, you better read about all the pounding and prying that goes on.

I don't know whether a bad half-axle would cause vibration without any other symptoms. Have you rotated your tires recently?

Exclamation

Vibration could be a wheel bearing... If you find out the tires are good (tires can raise all kinds of hell), and not a cause, you can check the wheel bearing.... if that turns out bad then replace that and the half axle...
