timing belt

hi,
Am trying to find a repalcement cam belt for my 96 corolla with engine number 5a-fe cant find a part number with parts suppliers. the belt has 5403xs-39117 x 21.1mm hsn written on it. is this familiar to any of you that might have done this already.
any help would be great.

try and go to a dealer over there. any auto part store should be able to pull up a part number for a timing belt for your car.

what size is your engine. for a 1.6L part number that i pull up from my supplier is TB236 and TB236B for the 1.8L it is TB235 or TB235B but i think you are looking for the TB236 from my tech notes.

thanks for the reply. actually got it sorted today after fifth phone call to parts stores. this corolla is what we call a jap import in that they are direct from japan when they hit 40 thou on the clock.this engine is 1.5 with multi point injection. they are usually higher spec aircon, abs, central lock etc,, than domestic models, basically the belt is the same as a carina. but gates use a different number on the belt than the parts book. since the 5a-fe engine is on only these models the part numbers dont exist on european parts books yet or maybe never. of course i got the reply on the phone over and over again: bring it in and we'll try to match it up. eh hello cant take the belt off the engine and then refit everytime i dont find one. so in short will purchase tomorrow and fit it and be finished.
