Low Mpgs

My 1999 Corolla VE is giving me 30 mpgs. Are there any suggested repairs which can pull back the average to the original.
I changed my plugs and flushed the tranny and radiator recently. the car only has 65K on it.
Please help.
Thanks

I have a 2001, and Im getting 42 - 45 MPG in a combo of city/highway driving.

I have done nothing more than regular maintence. I do have a drop in K&N air filter, but that did not give me any gains in MPG that I could tell.

I have vvt-i, you do not, which does help my gas mileage.

Other than regular oil changes at every 3000 miles, you can't do much.

Unless you would like to go out and get a Tornado air saver.

what are you talking about? your MPG's are exactly at EPA estimates...

http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/calcu...umn=1&id=15042

you can adjust driving habits to increase MPG...accelerate slowly, cruise in the highest gear possible, don't use A/C, etc. but there's nothing "wrong" with your car.
