UK UK Corolla TSport Vs Matrix/Corolla XRS

Hi All,

Wondering if anyone knows what differences exist between the UK and US/Canadian Corolla's with the 2ZZ-GE Engine?

Looking at induction kit's and also exhausts and notice the US/Canada has a lot more selection than the UK

Here's a pic of mine for comparison:

Needs some Coilovers

Cheers,

Steve

when i was over in the UK i was looking at these. theyre alot smaller then what we get, as we only get the sedans and i like the hatches alot better . i doubt a exhaust system would work because of that, induction kits would probably the very similar, but you might have small issues with a true cold air intake depending on where its intended to be located. our 2zzge in the corollas are detuned to, due to emissions. have you checked out TRD/TTE for parts? id imagine they would have an exhaust, etc.?

You can see mine in the picture in the signature. The European 2ZZ-GE has a different exhaust, intake and ECU tune due to emission standards being different. The intake will work for sure. However, the exhaust setup might be different (it is different in all three Celica, Matrix and Corolla XRS).

My next planned modification is newcelica.org's designed PPE race header that is showing consistently 8 - 12 WHP gain (rare for a 2ZZ-GE aftermarket header, which usually make the engine lose power rather than gain since the stock Yamaha header is very hard to improve upon).

Here is the thread:

http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/t206270.html

The 2ZZ-GE market is growing these days even though the engine has been discontinued. With Celica GTS, Corolla XRS, Matrix XRS and Lotus Elise owners all showing interest, it certainly has not died.

Thanks Guys,

I've already looked at the likes of TTE/TRD/etc, they are expensive! Plus you folks can get some good stuff and it would work out cheap for me because of the exchange rate.

Does this look like your engine bay?:

I have the airbox, then had a snorkel which ran under the fuse tray, beside the battery and connected up to a scoop at the front of the car? I've removed this as there was a section where the tube narrowed down to 1" !

If I had some spare cash, I would get one of these:

This is how my engine bay looks like (very similar to your's). However, your ECU, stock airbox and exhaust are different from what I know (because of difference in emission standards). That is why you make 193 BHP out of the factory:

Thanks. If you notice, his T-Sport has exactly the same Yamaha brace, but in the opposite direction and T Sport instead of XRS stamped on it.

LOL. I thought you understood. It was factory stock as per of the suspension tuning of the XRS (there is an X-brace behind the back seat as well so no folding seats).

K&N Makes a short ram intake specifically for the Euro T-sport, I have one on my Corolla XRS, it's really nice. You can order one from Amazon.com
