Cooling fan on '05 XRS always on

Is it normal for the cooling fan to always be running when the car is idling on the XRS? I'm only wondering because it seems that mine is always on. I don't like having a car that sounds like it is powered by an electric fan. I'm wondering if I've got a relay problem somewhere that needs to be replaced...

It happens in hot weather during summers for me. In cooler climates, you will see the fan does not run as often.

Remember, 2ZZ-GE has an air injection system that runs when the car starts up at idle and the oil temperature is cold. It usually runs for about 3 - 5 minutes to get the catalytic converter up to speed.

Hmmm... now that you mention it, my AC probably is on at the time. That is a good observation and I'll have to test that theory. Thanks for that tip. Hopefully that is the problem. The time that I usually first notice it is when I get off work and go to pick up my kids. The car has been running for five to ten minutes by then and the fan is on from the time I get out of the car till the time I get back in it. Hopefully that is due to the AC being on. I'll give it a look and see if that is the problem.
