USA A/C Compressor rattles in reverse

Hi...I have an 03 Corolla and lately when my car is cold and I'm in reverse backing out I have a loud rattling....This only happens when the A/C is on...I had a friend check it out as I had it in reverse with the break on and he said it was coming from my AC compressor when I shut my AC off under the load it stopped...It only does this when the car is cold and just a little bit in forward gear at start up then it smooths out when warm...Any experience this or have any ideas?...Thanks

Well your engine rotates the same direction regardless of which gear you're in.

yes

i have similiar stuff happening. i put the car up on ramps and could not find any thing loose such as heat shields ,cat converter, etc. i had someone start the car, then put it in drive and the rattling started.i put my head under the hood on the passenger side and i could hear the noise around the a/c or "tensioner".i,ll update you if i find a cure.
