Canada Alternator or Starter ??

Just after having spent hours on changing my master and my slave clutch cylinder, I decided to do a little test drive around the block

I had some difficulties to start the engine... the engine was revving strange, irregularly ...then at the lights, it stopped Impossible to start it again ?? I have power as the lights are working...

Is it the starter or my alternator

thanks

I would say Alternator. i dont think the starter would have anything else to do with the eninge and driving besides getting it started. Or something else could be going wrong. or the MAF sensor could be bad also.

well you can go to a auto parts store and they will test your battery and alternator for you free. and if the CEL is on, have them scan that. AS for checking the MAF, i dont know. Just unplug it and see if it makes any difference

Jump start the car, unplug battery terminal. If car stop, its the alternator.

it was not the alternator and not the starter !
there is a switch behind the clutch pedal, a switch the pedal has to touch to let the car start...having changed the master clutch cylinder, the pedal was not touching that switch anylonger...so the car was not starting....easy no :-/
