The Truth

There are REAL electric superchargers that exist- but they cost thousands, have their own battery, and only have enough juice for several second runs. To create the quantity of air an engine would need to boost electrically draws a massive amount of power way beyond your alternator.
You can get them for $20 bucks....and tastyratz...thanks for the TRUTH!!!!

yea. you have to get a seperate battery and a better alternator. and the whole setup is a lot of unnesessary weight because it can give anywhere from 8-15 psi depending on the engine size at high rpms but drops of to around 3 psi at lower rpms where it can recharge. so in a race you would get maybe 15 psi of boost for a few seconds but then theres no charge left and your not going to have any more boost for the rest of the race.

my freind who drives a 97 civic sedan with only a cai and exhaust beat the kid in the rx7 with the electric turbo. the d series engine on that civic has 102 horsepower stock. and i think that his rx7 is rated at like 130 something.

slow thats not an entirely true indication unfortuanately. Your talking different drivers, weights, engine condition, mileage, and ages, tires, lsd... List goes on - all that racks up to alot of variables that could easily sway 2 similarly equipped cars from winning to losing.

Thats because RX7's arent that light, not to mention a N/A Rx7 is horrible in torque, theres literally none of it.
