Drum Brakes

My rear wheels have drum brakes and they didn't spin freely when I had the car up. Is this supposed to happen or do I need to replace something on the drums?

What's the transaxle being in park have to due with the rear wheels?

Regardless, more then likely, the rear brakes are hanging up, either the parking brake is on, or the shoes are adjusted to tight. They would not turn at all? I would think that if they were that tight, you would have noticed a problem driving it...

Oh my bad, no my car was in park, but the parking brake wasn't up. The wheels would spin like maybe 1 rotation or so and then stop.

Actually, I did not. I stated that the rear brakes were hanging up, and either adjusted too tightly, or the parking brake was on. You could have answered the question I put to you earlier. What does the transaxle being in park have to do with the rear wheels?

Nothing...

Theres automatic adjusters inside the drums. Most likely the parking brake was on.

if they are hanging up, pull them off and check them. Other than what has already been sugested it could also be rust.
