how do you set the timing on a 4age 20v or how do you make sure its right?

good start but where they supose to be facing and on what stroke compression stork? at bdc or tdc? which one

All you need to worry about is lining the marks up. As long as they are aligned, you can't be 180 degrees out. This is why there is a mark on the crankshaft and not just the cams. But if you want to check it manually, engines are timed at TDC.

This is the best I can do for you, but I would really recommend finding yourself a manual for your car. Sounds like you're really getting into some stuff, and manuals are indispensable, especially if you don't have a lot of experience with in depth operations like timing belts.
BTW, this is out of your manual.
