Distributor and Wires

Other than an OEM replacement from toyota, would you guys suggest a different company that makes good distributor and wires?

I went to pep boys and bought new wires and a cap and i wasn't getting spark but i was before i changed it, so i measured resistance at the rotors pick up and the coil and i was getting 15 ohms which should resist spark. So i returned that and my dad picked up a different one and there was an open circuit on that cap too! Is this how all the caps are or was there just a bad batch of them? If someone could check for me on an 89-92 corolla that would be great because for a while i thought it was a distributor problem and went through like three of them hahaha

MY CAR STILL DOESN'T START

THANKS

What year/model is this car?

Resistance should be under say 25K for each wire, did you replace both the rotor and cap?

Have you tried looking at online vendors such as www.rockauto.com.

AE92 hmm

well the best ones that I ever bought were NGK wires and I think the name is YEC distributor cap. I think I got these from instockauto.com ... they're pictured below (the extra cable is a speedometer cable). Go shopping though b/c this was on a special if memory serves so it might not be the best deal you can find.

I ordered mine instead of going to the local store because they never match it up right... I never had a problem like you however... even though the parts didn't match up I still got it to work. For example, the distributor cap they get me is the MR2 one and the outlets all stick out one way instead of starring out in all directions. Another example is they give me a box of wires and not all the wires are long enough... they get so tired of dealing with me that they just open random boxes and hand me a wire that's long enough. This is many years of doing this. Last year I ordered it online and it went well.

I have no idea why it would do that tho, Im just telling you about some wires and a cap... maybe you didn't have the wires clicked on???
