A question on spoilers
I've been wondering about dual spoiler setups for a while now.
I've seen a functional one once on a AE86 race car that had a lip type spoiler and a average racing spoiler set higher up in the air. Supposedly this was able to help the car go a couple seconds faster.
Now what I was wondering is, is it really that good to have all that down force put behind the rear axle? If I was to mount 2 rear spoilers I picture a high mounted spoiler like the one on a 3rd gen Celica with the low mounted one as the standard lip type spoiler so that the down force will be more evenly applied around the rear axle as opposed to behind it. In my mind I see that as being a better set up though I'm no areodynamics expert so ya...
I was just wondering it it would be better to center the down force around the rear axle instead of behind it...
