My 89 sr5, with a 4-af
other than a motor swap, is there anythign i can do? I was contemplating going fuel injected, how doable is that?

or stronger valve springs and higher compression pistons... not sure what after market cams there are... and add exhaust header header, and a new carb. but, the turbo might be your better choice, but you will defintely needs better valve springs...
you have smog control laws there? might need to find out what you can get away with..

You dont definately need stronger valve springs, unless you plan to rev it higher... Which you wont need to with a turbocharger.

forced induction with a carb is difficult, but possible, just keep that in mind : the engine will be touchy to tune
youre better with a swap, less work and more fun

Its not really that difficult, there are some things you have to do, like for example box the carb in.
