this one way of doing it. i can't find the other way but this one is ther harder one. anyways i look for the easier way i have it somehere around.

This info is AE86 specific (1985 to be exact) but procedure should be same for AE92 coupe. You perform all electrical mods at your own risk.

Get two small push button momentary switches (radio shack #275-618), three male 1/4" crimp on connectors (radio shack #64-4040), four female .187" crimp on connectors (radio shack #64-4039), some 18-20 guage wire, and electrical tape.

Cut the red wire & yellow wire going into (from the car) the left headlight motor assembly, and splice them together. Cut the green wire & blue wire going into the right headlight motor assembly, and splice them together. Do this on the headlight assembly side of the connector at the motor, not on the car's wiring harness side. This is so if you do find working headlight assemblies somewhere, you can plug them in and do away with this mod.

Under the dashboard on the driver's side find the blue box and put it off of its hanger. Unplug it and put it away for possible future use. The blue box (AKA retract control relay) will not be needed with this mod. Cut four wires long enough to go from that six plug female connector that went into the blue box to where you plan to put the two momentary push button switches.

Two wires are going to be one 1/4" male crimp on connector on one end to one .187" female crimp on connector on the other end. One will plug into the yellow wire in the six plug connector (the 1/4" male connector) to one of the momentary switch's prongs. The other from the green wire to one of the other momentary switch's prongs.

The next wire will actually have two wires with one connector on one end. Two wires will go into one 1/4" male crimp on connector, with the .187" female connectors on the other ends. Plug the 1/4" male into the white/black wire on six plug connector, and the two other ends to the each connection left on the momentart switches.

Done.

Now when you press and hold the switch, the headlight motors will constantly recieve power from the 30A FL RTR Fusible link (in the engine bay fuse block). They'll keep going up and down, you'll just have to let go of the button at the right moment to stop it in the right position, which isnt too tough. Hold both buttons down at the same time to do 'the headlight wink/wave'.
