I need 2 sway bar brakets! - Toyota Nation Forum : Toyota Car and Truck Forums

Both sway bar brakets (the ones that bolt the sway bar to the chassis on each end) snapped and I need to replace them. Stupid Toyota said they cant get any in for weeks and I need some ASAP (long story)

Can anybody help at all? Im kinda stuck here

can you post a pic of the broken pieces? are you talking about the piece that holds the bushing and bar down?

you can just temporarily remove your whole sway bar until you get the brackets..

Ill try to get a pic tonite...the middle part of the braket is sandwiched between two bushings and the two outer ends bolt into the frame...I tried removing the whole bar yesterday but some of, if not most of the bolts were seized

Im gonna try again today with a torch

I actually love working on the car...Im learning a lot.

what are you using to remove bolts?

get a bunch of liquid wrench and a big breaker bar. I have a breaker bar with a 1/2" drive female end in the end of the bar, so you can plug 1/2" extensions into it. Basically you can make the bar as long as you want. I got it from Princess Auto.

Soak what ever it is in liquid wrench and bust out something like that, it'll usually turn eventually (sometimes the bolts break, but not too much you can do about that).
