toyota ECU dont like receiving false data, i know a lot of people who tried it on their toyota and whatever the model was( turbo, N/A, supercharged, ect) and its just cause teh ecu to go in "safe" mode

Those chips are only a resistor well hidden with epoxy in a box....you know how much a resistor costs? 50 cents...they sell you that chip 50$. Dont ever buy that

in fact you have better luck to touch things like timing rather than buy that!

So your "friends" didn't tell you how they know it was in limp mode? Its very very very simple. You won't be able to rev past a certain RPM (usually around the 3k) and you would (in some cases) get a CEL.... no machine needed.
