Attention AE92 GTS owners!

Who wants my exhaust??? it's too loud for me on the highway!! CLA straight thru exhaust, dual tip.. looks good on the GTS. sounds ok if you're in the city, nice and throaty.. but I'm on the highway 24/7 doing 100-140km/h.. and it's killing me!!

If you wanna upgrade your AE92 exhaust, and you have your exhaust from the catalytic converter to the back.. maybe we can do a trade plus a few $$$ extra... as long as your exhaust is not loud on the highway.

It's brand fuggin new.. only used about a week. the muffler itself cost me about $200 plus install and piping and a resonator, which only lowered the noise a bit but it still kills me.

P.S. if anyone knows anything I can do to lower the noise A LOT on the highway.. let me know and maybe I will keep it.. I like it, but my ears are taking a beating.

that's because his is probably a dual-chamber exhaust rather than our straight-thru exhausts.

buddy, is there such a thing as a silent straight exhaust?

that's asking for way too much man.....if u got larger piping and u have a straight muffler...there's no way u can get a quiet one..unless u dont use pipes and u line up resonators all the way to the end :p

I'm thinking of doing the same shit.. It would be like having a big exhaust-looking tip at the back.. LOL!! but my idea was to get rid of the OEM resonator and put a small muffler in that area.

A big outlet out back reduces back pressure some but adds considerably to dB output. If you use a larger pipe upstream you will see a benefit in reduced back pressure upstream where it is hottest. Remember that as a gas, exhaust has larger volume when hot. If you reduce back pressure upstream it has more of an effect than downstream. Note as well that Toyota used twin, small outlets on the Corolla GT-S. Twin bolt-on stainless steel tips dress it up and give the appearance of larger tips but without the drone of a large exhaust opening.
My point? Ha, the point is on my head

Maybe use a stock V6 Camry muffler from a gen3 or something. Twin tip, should flow plenty since they were designed for a 190HP engine, it would be quiet, looks pretty good

Not trying to jack the thread or anything, but I want that gen 3 dual tip look for my cam. Should I look at aftermarket tips or could I swap a gen 3 for my gen 4?
