Smile Turn signal switch or wiring problem.....

Hello, all. I'm new here though I have visited this forum in the past multiple times.

I have a problem with my turn signals. Basically, when I either signal left or right I can hear the clicking sound (every time) but more often than not the green arrow(on the bash board) for the turn signal doesn't turn on. The right signaling arrow almost never turns on. The left arrow could be turn by sometimes pressing the turn signal slowly or often multiple tries(not 100% though). Here is the problem. If the green arrow on the dash board doesn't turn on, then amber light (for signaling) doesn't turn om. If the green arrow turns on, then the amber signaling light turns on(none of the bulbs are blown).

The car is from 1999.

I'm trying to figure out what could be the problem. Is it the (electrical) wiring problem or do I need to replace the turn signal switch? Also, I'm wondering if there is any online diagram how to remove the cover for steering wheel and replace the turn signal.

Thanks!

Exclamation

aren't the emergency flashers and turn signals on the same bulbs? maybe there is a bad relay? wouldn't hurt to check the fuses and relays. There are schematics around... if you dont have a book, the local libraries have an online auto databe you can access online i fyou have a library card,, you can find and print the schematics..

Good luck..

Have you changed the turn signal relay, this could be the cause of your problems. You should be able to access the relay without taking the steering console apart.
