I have an s13 with an sr for my weekend car and i bought a crx to get me around the weekdays and it is very reliable, well ....I recently bought a 85 gts and want to know if this is a good everyday reliable car? If it is or can be with a lil maintenance I will sell the crx and put that money into the gts.But i would really hate to sell the crx and have a real piece on my hands....

s13 coupe with an sr conversion.........

anyways, the ae86 will be a good daily driver if you replace all of the following.

brake cylinder, slave, master
clutch cylinder, slave, master
radiator if it needs to be,
change all the fluids,
thermostat maybe,
service all the brake calipers and make sure none of the lines have rusted out,

any suspension bits that may want to change, tranny fluid change,
inspection of the 4age front and rear main crank seals, cam seals, any oil cooler hosing.

headlight motors, lighting.. hmmm

i think that is it.. but you know what your crx is a newer car, so i mean, you are getting an older one.. and older cars, mean MAINTENCE.. no if ands or buts, so if you have cash and alot of time on your hands, then by all means sounds like you can have your own drift garage.. but you can always do a b18c5 conversion into the crx....

Hey, welcome to the board.

The GTS can be a reliable car, as long as you make sure all the important items are taken care of. Just expect more items to fix up the harder you drive the car.

Hey Andrew, what's with the shoe pic in your signature?

Hi guys I greatly appreciate all the info on what to fix first the suspension and brakes parts were a given but didnt know to look for the seals and stuff...thanks. I am from Alabama and i did my sr stuff myself it is kinda still in the works it is a hicas equipped 240 and has abs so I have been wiring all of that to work with the sr harness, I am not real sure about total cost because i have yet to figure up the total i have spent on the sr and mods(i would really hate to do this)it will be my weekend grip car so I figured a hachi would be a sweet daily grind/beater/drift car...I greatly appreciate the kind welcome and I will get pics up of the 240 up as soon as my silvia front end and bodykit get here and put on.

This may be a dumb newbie question but couldnt you mod the 4agze supercharger to work with the 4age? I know you couldnt do alot of boost with the higher compression but on the low end high compression w/ boost can be fun.If the 4ag reacts anyway like my civic with a supercharger did it would be awesome for scca and drift

The problem there is that the NA ECU won't be able to handle the boost. Jover has the whole GZE in his, and it kicks ass. Also there are some issues about mounting an SC before the TB.

Tony (JSPECPERFORMANCE) sells a high-comp 4AG=ZE Kit... it's worth checking out in my opinion.
