My AE86 was destroyed tonite

Im comming home from dinner with some friend in the MR2 tonite and all the neighbours are out around my house, firetrucks, police all light blaring, It was like a movie.

Then I look to my left and see my Corolla 40 feet from where i parked it, through a fence and into a backyard.

Im not sure what im allowed to say legaly, since they driver of the other car (a new cavalier) is going to court for either a reckless or careless driving charge...the police werent optimistc on him getting charged...itll be a slap on the wrist if anything.

Again there are many details I cant say, but basicly I wish the driver would lose his liscence for life, but itll likely just be points off... I cant believe it

It took forever to find that car...it was special to me, not some beater...insurance wont give me jack for it...to them its a 17 year old corolla...I dunno whats up with insurance, if ill get money...ill most likely have to sue to get money and thatll take a long time

i just started my 3rd year of university...i barely have any money, everything was set, parking, insurance, tuition everything...all set, i had everything to look forward to for years with that AE86...it was so much fun to drive....i guess im still in shock...

heres some pics, sorry for the quality, ill post again when i clear my head

btw i confronted the passenger of the car saying thanks for ruining my car and he said "shit happens" Im all out of money for another beater, insurance on it was 1800 a year no coverage, i gotta bus to school now and i just paid 300$ for parking

Oh damn... car looks written off. Was the driving impaired or anything? I would have been royally pissed. Don't count yourself out yet though. I'm sure you can make a lot of your money back by parting the car out. I'm not exactly sure how insurance works but good luck with it. I hate to see a great 86 smashed up like that, even makes me more angry when the accused says something smart like "shit happens". Atleast it wasn't your MR2...

Damn That sucks! Actually with school and my parets ****ing me over I think I'm going to have to cancel my insurance soon. It is really starting to piss me off having a car I can't drive after spending so much restoring it. First my G2 get canceled buy the power outage and now my parents are be dick heads trying to steal my money again.

I'm almost at the point where I'm going to just drive with no licence or insurance. But my logic still seems to be working so I won't be doing that...

Voodoo.Priest - that sucks man. I remember reading your post on your car restoration process. Just recently have restored my 86 myself I know how it feels to have put so much money into your car then not being able to drive it!!

This whole fiasco reminds me of Mr_Sinister's red 86 (was it yours?) that was completely totaled. Good luck fuel injected - I'm sure things will sort themselves out. You found a pretty good 86, maybe it's worth repairing when you find out the extent of the damage.

kick the fugger right in the privates.

I wonder if you can at least get insurance to pay you back what you paid for the car. Perhaps you can find the buyer to confirm the actual amount you paid.

And as for the parking, maybe you can sell you pass to someone else at a small loss.

Good luck!

sorry to hear what happened man..... that just really sucks ass. i understand what this is putting you through...

if you need to claim insurance for more than what they will be willing to offer, you can contact me and i'll give you some car ad examples of 86's sold for over 2900 within toronto (i currently only have two). you can use those to ask for more conphensation regarding your loss.

at this point, i think you should try to get as much money as possilbe, buy the car back for parts (and also to make more of your money back if you choose to part it), and if you want, sue that little bitch or do watever else in your power

No it is the other way around. My AE86 used to be Randys. He bought that red one ether shortly before or after I bought the two tone blue one off him.

i'd be really pissed if that happened, who would've thought a parked car all safe and isolated from moronic drivers, would still be at risk!

like martiniracing said, part out the car, you will make a decent amount of money, especially one in good condition like yours

and then afterwards goto martiniracing's big private lot of 86s and pick one you like

sorry to hear what happened man.. i know what it's like to lose a car you love, although it must be extra frustrating that it had nothing to do with anything you did. I could tell you really appreciated the car.

no one, including that asshole driver, will understand that your 86 can't just be summed in a number a blue book.

hopefully you'll get some decent coin for the car and maybe get another one.
