Security devices.....

Hello.

I am a newbie. I own a 1996 Corolla DX.

What is a fuse cut off? Kill switch?

How much are these?

Any other measures to secure the car besides lo-jack, basic alarm?

Thanks

kill switches or cut-off switches, connect/disconnect power to a certain component of your vehicle. These components without power, will result in failure of your car starting!

On top of my head, you could do one for your starter, or fuel pump, or alternator, etc

...and then you will hide the switch (duh) so the crook can't find it, and will probably give up in hacking your car

I don't remember seeing these kill-switch kits for sale, everyone usually make their own, just buy the parts from Radio shack, home depot, or your local automotive store. If you don't know how (or afriad of messing something up) then get your mechanic to make one for you, its really simple, just a switch (with relays, solenoids, etc, depending what you're doing) between the power source and the component

gooood luck

when you park:

pop the hood
yank the EFI fuse
close the hood

done

this way they won't EVER find the switch.

Electronic Fuel Injection.

Your fuel system won't be pressurized, or function what so ever without it. It's located under the hood usually in a black box labelled "Fuses". If you find the alternator fuse in it, it's most likely close by.

"The Club"

Some of the Camry dudes favor the "pain generator" style alarms
