lightened flywheel

im going to be changing ny clutch and flywheel next sat. im thinking about getting a stock clutch and a lighened fly wheel. does a lightened flywheel make a huge difference in performance and sound? do you think this is a good idea. i have a ae92.

what's the purpose though? A light flywheel will give quick revs, higher throttle response, but you will lose the rotational inertia (of the drivetrain) once you're off the gas

a heavy flywheel is not as sensitive, but it will maintain higher engine revolutions when you are off the gas, useful like coasting through a corner, and you can pick up speed faster at the exit

and about the sound, i have no clue.....never knew ppl upgrade their flywheels for the sound

no difference in sound.. but like project trueno said, it will make your engine feel more responsive.. if you make it too light, tho, it'll be a little hard to drive smoothly

for street use i dont recommend u lighten it more than a few pounds....once it's too light, it's realllllllly hard to drive like a normal person..ppl will see u jerk around and stuff haha.

my friend who has a 8lb flywheel tells me that it's hard to maintain speed also...
