sand, cut...do what u can.

after all the rust is removed, paint it over with something good...or even put bondo over it and then paint...some ppl suggest using liquid metal instead of bondo....

then get it oil sprayed...that should hold up for a while

dont forget to clearcoat!

if its just surface rust you'll be fine with sandpaper, but if you uncover more you'll need a grinder

good luck

Yeah, a grinder or sanding disc on the end of a drill will make the job a lot quicker. Eventually you'll come across some very bad rust that will need to be cut out and patched with fresh metal, that won't be fun. There's a rust neutralizing paint made by POR 15 or somthing like that, it'll help keep the rust from coming back through.

grind until you see bare metal, spray rust inhabitor, should turn black, wipe off, spray again and let it sit, wipe off, then spray one final coat and let it sit for a bit........afterwards apply bondo, sand till the surface is smooth, primer, paint, clearcoat

I know what kind of BS your going through, my car just went through a ground up restoration....what a pain....you'll find rust in all the wrong places....below and underneath your front window at the base of your dash, behind the rear side windows....evrywhere......I stripped it to the shell and removed all the windows, mouldings, bumpers, lights, the works.....but now you'd never know that the car ever had any rust on it.....good luck and have fun!!
