After the Signal Drift Exhibition. Is time to get my car to fix. My LSD is done and my clutch is done too, damn. Can someone give me some suggestion, what kind of clutch should I choose
I am gonna miss the monthly meet on the coming Sat.
I might go to the meet so if I do, you're welcome to ride with me ...
As for clutch, I would say it really depends on what kinda power and what kinda driving you're going to do. OEM is good to a point, if you're sticking with stock power. But if you're going to drop a GZE in there, you'll want something stronger. I would say, if you can get an aftermartket clutch for about the same price as an OEM, then go for it. But otherwise, OEM should be enough. You've tried my car. The clutch grabs pretty good.
What is a clutch?
They told me my clutch is gone but my car still seems to work and that was a year ago. So I don't think I need one. But my car seems to have trouble accelorating now. Is that because I don't have a clutch any more?

trouble as in you step on the gas, but car doesn't seem to accelerate? in that case your clutch disc is probably slipping (worn)
sometimes, they leave this earth for a better land, the paradise of clutches. They go to sleep for a long long time
If when you step on it( the gas: extreme right pedal) the engine goes immediatly at redline ( tachometer: tell you how many revolutions per minute you enigne does: rpm = number of turns of teh crank per minute) and then drops to like 4000 or 5000 to ga back up to redline ( tachometer: read above) then your clutch slips.
How Clutches Work
Any car with a manual transmission has a clutch that connects/disconnects the engine and transmission. Learn how a normal automotive clutch works and explore a variety of other clutches!
Hey Kaz, I saw your trueno this weekend, it was mint! I was wondering, what modefications have been done to it, and how much money did these things take? (and where the hell do you find a 'Fugiwara Tofu Shop' decal!?)
Having a good clutch when you drive your car is a very good idea! Max Misawa on Club4AG is selling CarbonKevlar clutches for a really good price! Other than that, I am using an ACT (Advanced Clutch Technologies) Extreme clutch kit and it grabs like a mofo...even if you end up in too low of a gear, it will not slip.
I wouldn't waste time going half-stepping with a cheap clutch, as they tend to get overheated and get shredded...why take chances, it's not much fun to be changing clutches all the time, especially if you would rather not think twice about it when racing.
What people don't realize about having a strong clutch is that, the more direct the power is to the drivetrain and the wheels, the more control you have of that power, and you'll find the engine to be more responsive.
It may be a good idea to get a lightened flywheel as well at the same time!
Take it easy! You did really well on the weekend. Hachi-Roku Represent!!!

Oh! Thanks. Actually I didn't do much on my car. Only the paint job, but is three years ago, so the rust are coming out again, . I did some suspension work. I am using the TRD shocks and checkman spring. And I change the muffler. And I got a 4.3 final gear and jdm lsd. But is not working now. The sticker-- I got it in Hong Kong long time ago. Like around two years.
Thanks Jover! How's your car. Is everything Ok? I got alot to do after the drift exhibition. Change the clutch. Fix the brake..... Need to spent lot of money
Anyways. thx for the advice. And I hope Drift Star is gonna be successful. GO GO GO---DRIFT STAR!!!!!!!
I have your sticker on my car. Should be getting lot of attention!!!
also, someone is selling ACT clutches on ebay with a buy it now price of $235 US, I think it was.. might want to compare that price with driverfx.ca
i'm using a trd clutch.. it grabs nicely, but not too harshly. Still very streetable.
Voodoo: if your clutch is "gone", it doesn't surprise me.. martiniracing had a dynapak clutch installed when the motor was swapped, and from what others have said, dynapak clutches suck..
