What to look for when buying an AE92?

Hi guys

I'm thinking about buying an AE92, I can't seem to find a decent AE86 GTS hatch and I'm leaning towards an AE92 to use as a winter car too. What kinds of things am I looking for when checking them out? Like typical rust spots and stuff like that. Things that have a tendency not to work and always breaking and that sort of thing.

Thanks in advance

Roby

couple of stuff you may wanna look b4 purchasing,
most AE92 has rust (major) on the rear quarter panels right under the side skirts.

the side mirrors, could be cracked ornot even workingsince they are all power.

if you're getting Sunroof, check rust on that even tho all of them would have rust.

try to tap on the floor if any rust has gone thru it, becuz depanding on the rust location, the floor rusts like mad.

engine wise, make sure you're looking for something with less oil leak around the engine block especially on the redtop.

also check if the pop up lights work too, since these do burn out and pain in the asss to install them again.

Driver side rear taillight always leakes water on these cars, so try to wash and touch the carpet and see if it's wet. If the light is leaking from the seals, then your trunk is most likely rusted.

Check the wheel wells for rust, floor is very important, like TRDragoon said, AE92's floors usually rust fast if the car is not taken care of.

Around the front winsheild, if the window is cracked you most likely have rust under..

hand brake.....ae92 is notorious for having a failing handbrake.
my car is the only car out of the boro crew with a working handbrake from day 1
