Cam shafts

My room mates are in tool and die. One of their up comming projects is to make cam shafts. So I think I'll pay one to custom make me some performance cams. Any recomeneded size of cam like 272 or 304? What do I need for a cam upgrade other than better pullies and new belt? Is there any thing I will need to give them to help make the new cams?

And if I can some how pull the money out of my *** and get an LSD I can get them to shorten my drive shaft for me too.

And another thing is that 2 of my room mates plan on opening a mod shop and custom make parts for racing. Not sure where they are going to get the money for that but if they pull it off I'll milk them for discounts.

264 or even lower is a good start. i'd think 272 are too large and will give u a facked up idle

256 seem to be the most used in low modded 4A-GE's. If I were to purchase cams, I would most likely go that route.

ok, why do you need to shorten your drive shaft for lsd?? I guess your'e talking about the axles..

from what I hear, 272 is the biggest cam you can run on the stock ECU/AFM, but it will idle not so hot..

one thing people do to improve idle is run a smaller intake cam than exhaust cam..

so for example you'd run a 264 intake, 272 exhaust


cams are nice.. but cams+headwork+raised compression is nicer
