1990 Corolla buying advice: problem areas?
Hi guys; this is my first visit to this forum. I might be buying my sister-in-law's '90 Corolla for use as a daily driver. It's in great shape (SoCal car with no rust), 123K miles, 3-speed automatic w/ A/C, twincam motor. It's a buzzy highway car (needs an overdrive desperately), but otherwise OK.
Overall, is this a desirable car? My gut feeling is that the struts may need replacement soon, and it may need some front end work. Are these problem areas on these cars, and is there anything else I should I keep an eye on for future maintenance? How long do the motors and auto trannys in these cars last (assuming proper upkeep)? Thanks for your help!
