4ag crank seal

my crank seal is going....has anyone done this type of replacement before? how *fun* was it exactly? heh.

i hope i can simply take off the crankj pulley and POOF! there's the seal......out she goes and in goes the new one.....
not as simple as that is it?

guy you fucked

first you gotta cut the passenger side inner fender out so you can access the pulley

then pry that bitch our and take apart who knows what else and then you get to it

THats the easy part

then you gotta weld it all back together with zip ties since you dont have a welder

see thats the proper way for boroness....

but how do you know that its the crank seal????

oh BTW, we were supposed to change the crank seal when we did the timing belt:o

it should be easy, saw a mechanic do it at toyota on the 4AFE.

and menish, pick up the phone biatch!

alrighty! new project in the spring

for now i'm just leaving it.

i'm just going to change ALL seals!
valve cover seals, crank seals, valve seals, head gasket....time to overhaul that motor.

can ya still get those camber kits from japan?

so while we're at it doin your'se why not do all 3 of ours

fuck why not rebuild and twin charge each or um

we have 5-6months of the winter to do it

I had to replace the oil pump houseing on my bluetop. That is where the front seal is located. Once you pull off the crank pully and key, drop the oilpan, unbolt and remove the oil pump housing, and knock the seal out of there with a big socket and a hammer. The new one should pop right in. With the FWD you could have to lift the whole engine out. I dont know about that though... I dont have FWD.
