Proof? Well, that's arguable.
Ok, we have some disgrunted customers here who seem to have problems with their Audi TT's. How many? 20..25? Are we to assume that all Audi's are crap because of a bad batch? Hey, it happens. Are Audi's reknown for not being reliable? I don't think so.
My friends mom's 2000 Corolla had it's auto tranny changed twice because of a malfunction. Isolated case, bad batch. Am I to assume that all Corollas are the same? That this taints Toyota's name and reliability? Nope.
Besides some isolated cases, I must say that the rule of Quality/Price applies itself at 95%. Not in all domains (like clothing) but in most mechanical and electronic applications.
Porsche, Mercedes, Audi and BMW. I am yet to see their names tainted by poor quality construction. They have made their names because of their quality and reliabilty, just like Toyota.
This is something you can't dispute.
Let's all have a beer now! Cheers!
