just two days ago......from a friend of mine......he got him-self a 97 Civic......so i ask him if he could sell his AE-86 for me.....he first ask me for $800......but then i lower the price to $650.....KOOOLL..
but the front bumper of the car has damage....and the exhaust is leaking air too....and the motor has 300 000 on it....
i hope i could bring it out for the next meet...cuz i dunno how long does the process takes to get the owner change....first Cert then Emission.....well.....i'll keep you guys update.....
well then again, the civic EK hatch is the only thingi would give up a 800$ hatchi for.. cuz for the $ value it would take to get that hatchi up to civic battling performance, you would have a ek with full engine/tranny transplant, full suspension 16"rims of your choice, etc etc..
are we dumb to invest in toyotas? especially old ones?
HELL NO!!!!
toyota's rule especially the old ones =)
they cost more to do up cause there better lol plus you dont look like EVERY other car on the damn road.
civic,prelude,civic,civic,dodge minivan,civic
lol sad thing is only 1 of those civics would have ANY mods done to the motor.
sorry i dunno where jan is.. but anyways I will try to contact him.
With your call to elite, are you buddy buddy with them?
tell him you were talking to a friend that has an ae92.and he was told that he got a pair of brembo cross drilled for $135.. ask if he can swing that same deal for me!!!
Elite Auto is where I go to for regular maintenance and the guys there know me well enough since I've been having regular visits to the place this past summer. The guys there, are probably sick of looking at my car.
You need front brembo rotors for your AE92? I have a friend who bought brembo rotors, all around, in his AE86 but he tells me that the stocks one may have been better. He didn't notice any difference in terms of stopping.
Are the brake rotors on the AE92 the same as the AE86? My friend with the brembo rotors, all around, is selling his AE86. Maybe you can trade for his rotors if they fit. He bought the car for only a short period of time.
Jan e-mailed me back just last afternoon. But he gave me the price of his engine and not the installation fee. Let me ask again.
Elite says that the engine swap will cost just as good as the head swap alone. But they recommend that I go with Kenneth's port-and-polished head. The reason being that the new motor may have problem of its own.
i have brembro crossedrilled, and i don't notice any difference. they are slightly thicker than stock but nothing else.
whatever, if civics weren't so played out, i would love to have an eg6 with a jdm b18c, tein coils sitting on mugen rnr's.....thats sooo fat!!!!! back in 97, i wnated to do an eg6 so bad....but they're just played.
