My headlight motors haven't been working ever since I got my car which is a good 4-5 years. So I finally decided to replace them with working ones.. and it turns out that my motors are actually FINE, but it seems like the wires have been fried.

Has anyone dealt with something similar and maybe could help me out a little. I'm clueless when it comes to these wires.

Where do those wires connect to exactly so I get an idea how it works and know what to replace.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!

there should be a relay that it runs to.... basically when you turn the switch in the car it sends a small 12V signal to the relay... the relay has a direct connection to the battery and pulls power from there to send to the motors and cause them to flip up... when the motors are fully extened, the relay gets this info and stops sending the 12V signal from the battery.....

i've heard that in the 86 the relay is somewhere below the drivers side headlight... i'm not 100% sure though

yep, right behind the drivers side headlight in front of the battery. you will have to remove the battery to get at the relay. check out the connections to the relay, some corrosion may have caused the wires to become unconnected. a new relay shouldnt cost much at a wreckers, and they are usually still on any sr5 or gts.
