cost-effective carbs for 3TC

I want to put better carbs on my 1980 3TC. I can get weber 32-36 for about $250. How about putting carbs from a celica of that generation on it. Would that be comparable for power? And would it fit?

mschor.. why r u gonna use 32-36 weber? if u think that later on u'l be modding that 3T, u'd be better of with a set of 40's. there's a lot of 40's and 45's on sale at club4ag.com, you can buy a used one with the intake manifold attached to the carbs. aside from weber, u can also try mikuni's or sk's. a friend of mine has a set of 48's in his 3TC but his motor is fully built. try searching the guys in Florida and Cali who still runs this motor.

I'd rather make an adapter plate and put a 2bbl Holley on it.
