what part of the dash? with the ae92 coupe you need to start from the bottom and work up, that's the only way to do it.....

i just removed the gauges, and that in itself requires quite a bit of removal (stereo shroud, drivers side lower dash, the trim around the steering wheel - the black/smooth one, then the piece that has the hazaard/defroster buttons, then you can access the screws.....

I just recently got mine back in, it was quite a feat. There is some screws underneath the dash that I had to take out everything to get to and it is a part to the glove box. If you were talking about the passenger side. On the driver's side there is a screw on the side that I didn't notice until i took of the trim panel for the door.

re:

I took the one off my GT-S donor car so I could get all the wiring harness out,

there are bolts behind the defrost vents on top too, did you check in there. it is pretty easy to get the dash off, have fun.

Somehow close to the topic, but I don't want to start a new one.
The bulbs in the heater control panel are working intermitently. The cigarette lighter bulb, ashtray bulb, all other electrics works fine.

I spent few hours to unmount the central trim panel to get to the bulbs (of course, I dismantled also the driving wheel lower panel even though it was not needed :-( , now I know for the future...... the central panel cover goes out without the need to dismantle anything else..... )

Now back, there are two groups of connectors, one to the A/C switch, that works, and a thick group. I pushed the connecors more, but no result.

according to Haynes book most all dash aux lights are somehow related. all the other works except the heater control panel.

Do they have separate fuse?

It's not a big deal, but nice to have them back.

IIRC there's a bolt in each of the 'side mirror defogger' vents towards the front of the dash. This is what you might be looking for. Just pop the vents out and get your socket set in there.
