I plan on getting a TE27 after I finish my AE86. But that probably won't be for like 2 or 3 years. :o I want a TE27 now.

that's when i got one bro
i just couldn't take it anymore
my '86 would have taken up all of my money for sure
i cried like a little girl when she was being driven off
she was an 85 in the 2 tone grey and body was sooo nice
all in all i'm happy with the decision
only thing that sucks is parts
that and finding a perfect TE27 or something with an in tact interior that i can look at to make mine just like it
anyway
kp i've sent you an email
i will send you my number
please let me know

Have you ever thought of getting one from out of province/state or even country? To my knowledge there are a number of them in western Canada and southern U.S.A.. So I guess it is all a question if your willing to have it shipped or how far your willing to travel to pick it up. Also keep an eye on Ebay I've seen a couple for auction on there before.

When the time comes for me to get my TE27 I'll probably look in Califonia for it.

And I don't plan on selling my AE86. I think the TE27 would look good parked beside it.

goodluck finding a TE27 2 years from now.. if you do find one it'll prolly been modified already. me and my bro have been looking for 3 years now here in Ontario but no luck. I've looked into getting one from cali but most of them are modified already. we're looking for a stock or at least close to stock form.

..man, that would be nice if there's a TE27 crew in Toronto!

man you're absolutely correct
there is no such thing as a TE27 for sale in Ontario. everyone imports them from far away and is not willing to part!!
i guess that's how you can that someone's serious bout the car??
If only there was, but then again I like having a car that people can't find easily and rice up. I'de really hate to see this little car with some ginormous aluminum wing on it or neon track lighting going all along the side of it. As for my car, I did ship. I shipped all the way from B.C. and now I'm broke as the day I was born. I have a little money left for now but I want to get some parts that I will really need for safety. Hopefully I can find something.
that's really the only downer to the TE27's

Actually there was a white TE27 for sale earlier this year on Auto Trader in Ontario. I think the guy wanted $2,000 for it. It had minor rust and a few other small problems.

And I don't mind if it is modified. I realise you can't get picky for cars that old. I don't mind if there is no interior though I would prefer to have some. I would also would perfer that the engine be broken or removed altogether cuz I'd like to drop in a 3T-GTE.

trust me you'de mind a bit if the interior was gutted and there was no engine. What you're thinking of is not a great idea as you think it is. Unless of coarse you know exactly what goes where on the TE27.
You do need some kind of a platform to start with my friend.
What would you do if I told you about a TE27 all original with rust in a place near florida?
would you take it? for 300 bucks american ?
right now??!!
think on it
unless of coarse you think you could do it
i would be glad to watch
it's not as easy as you think it is
not trying to hate
it's just a little harder than you think

*Sigh*

I didn't say I'd take any old piece of shit now did I. What I mean about the no interior is that it would at minimum have the dash. Your telling me it is a big deal to install a bucket seat?

I know the frame must be solid. I learnt the hard way about grabbing any old car and thinking you can fix it with my first AE86. The body was dead though everthing mechanical worked perfect. So I just gutted that one and and kept the parts and got a better AE86. I already know how much work goes into restoring a car. I've sank almost $9,000 on my GT-S now only a few more things to fix and the restoration phase will be done then I can start modifying.

But to be honest I would get the $300 car as the parts could be very useful with one with a stronger frame. Nothing wrong with a parts car or two no? Even before you find a solid car you can learn a lot about the car by stripping down the junker.

Your too negitive. You should see the good in something bad. Now because of my dead AE86 I have a spare engine and transmission that work perfectly. I also took several other parts from the car so that is anything breaks such as the pod motors I have spares. On top of that I gained experiance working on cars by stripping down my old AE86. And even better with all the parts I've sold off the old AE86 it's almost like I got the parts for free.

And to be honest the guys I know hat restore cars do exactly this. They go to western Canada or southern US with a trailer and pick up four or more cars at a time. Some of them the same cars in varied conditions. They know they just need one solid frame the rest are for their mechanical parts and so on. They then combine all of these crap cars to create one good car plus a few left over parts incase shit happens. I just wish I had the deep pockets these old guys have. You should see their garages. Room for 12 cars plus a section to work on the cars complete with a lift/pit like in a professional garage.

o boy
talk about sensitive
if a car is stripped it usually means STRIPPED!!
as in nothing
not even bare essentials
and when it's done for race it's usually very sloppy
anywho
i guess i've just had enough of ppl talking shot about things as if everything is easy as pie
i dunno
just don't get all pissy about it
bye bye

Voodoo.. if you are thinking that you can do the same restoration process (just like you said on the above post) as the way you did on your AE86 to a TE27, then you'll have a very rude awakening. you can't get parts for the TE27 the same way as the AE86. i know the 86 is getting rare but it's NOT as rare as the TE27. so you can't just buy old shitty 27's and make it a parts car. there's hundreds of performance companies still make parts for the AE86 but not the TE27.

i kinda understand what curious is trying to say but unless your planning to just make it a track car, the "no interior" clause goes out the window. you'll gonna be spending a lot of money trying to parts like carpet for the car if you buy a stripped car. if you're thinking that the AE86 build up was hard.. multiply the TE27 project by 3. but if i were you i'll save up the money and just buy a car that's all done, maybe even with a 3TGTE.. hehe! goodluck man and maybe by that time i'll have my own too.

curious... like i told you before be patient dude, it'll work out in the end and you'll love that car twice as much..haha!

Hi guys,
I just want to tell you that I have a 74 S5 that I converted into a SR5. It's almost mint with orig. interiors and seats, only a little bit of rust and its sleeping for almost 4 yrs now in my garage. Its red/orange and it's in Brampton Ont. It ran 13.7 at Cayuga about 4yrs. ago w/ 50 shot of Nos on 3rd gear only and without Lsd. But now I put a 100 shot, launch control and Trd Lsd. So probably if the Nos will work on all gears it probably go to the low 12's. Its got a 2TG eng., Trd racing cams, Venolia pistons, Crower rods, Trd big valves and springs, Toda flywheel, Act clutch, Trd lsd and gears, Msd electronic hardwares, Mallory distributor, Trd shocks, coil over up front, addco swaybar at front and rear, Holly blue pump, Mikuni side draft carbs, headers, four 13x8 Rota wheels,Racing bucket seats, roll bars and lowered 3'' to the ground. Theres still a lot more that I can tell you about this car and I have tons of old school parts for T ,TG and A series eng. from eng. to transmission. I have'nt touch the car for a long time bec. I'm busy with my 20V Starlet that I use for autocross. Well anyways I hope I hear from you guys. Thank's!

I was planning on making it a track car which is why I didn't care about the interior or it being modded in some way. If I'm unable to find a 3T-GTE I'll settle for a 3T-C which there should be plenty of. I realise that will cost a lot of time and money. It is not like I expect this project to be done in a few months. I expect it to take a couple years at the least.

And if it is so unbalivably difficult to retore the car and to find parts there is always another option. Have any of you ever concidered professional restoration? Though I'd concider this a last resort.
