I'm looking to change the ATF in my g/f's '88. (Car has the carburetted engine.) Anyone have any advice? I'd like to use the pump in the trans to pump out the old stuff (via the cooler lines) while I refill the trans through the dipstick. Works on my '89 Caravan; will that work here?

one of the main causes of automatic trabsmission failure in the late 80,s and early 90,s corolla,s is a/t fluid loss going undetected. i believe on those cars there is a separate place where a/t fliud sits that does not show on the dip stick. some of those cars had a notice on the dip stick handle to check the differential level.??i think it leaks out from around the c/v joints connection. or the differential. BE SURE to search this forum about it .
