one of the main causes of automatic trabsmission failure in the late 80,s and early 90,s corolla,s is a/t fluid loss going undetected. i believe on those cars there is a separate place where a/t fliud sits that does not show on the dip stick. some of those cars had a notice on the dip stick handle to check the differential level.??i think it leaks out from around the c/v joints connection. or the differential. BE SURE to search this forum about it .
