HELP!!! Good JDM suppliers that can get JDM engine parts used

Some of you may have already read my post about my alternator's demise...

I guess I'm looking for a good place in TO that might be able to get me just a used alternator from a Jap junk yard.

I'm just kind of exploring my options, because I don't know if the MR2 GZE alternator will work (different part numbers).

Thanks for your help - it's much needed!

Eric

Eric, why not have yours rebuilt? Most often the difference between Toyota alts is where the field wire bolts on (some don't reach) and the size/number of grooves on the pulley.

$60 to $100 to get it rebuilt in the GTA, make sure that whoever rebuilds it, rebuilds the one you gave them.. sometimes you'll give them an alternator and they will give you back an already rebuilt one from their stock. Make sure they don't do that for you since yours is from a JDM 4agze.. unless of course the have the same one in stock.

The voltage regulator is interchangeable on most ND(nippon denso) alternators, so if the one you have doesn't match the old one you can usually swap them. Look up my 'rebuild your own alternator' thread and see picture for picture how to do it. Also, look at the decal on the two alternators, it tells you the wiring order of the regulator plug.
