20V head on a 16V bottom end?

I was just curious if the 20V silver top head fit on a 4A-GZE (87-up Mr2 supercharged block)? Please dont flame it's just a simple inquirery... And also how good does a stock 20V motor take boost? Thanks for your time...

It will fit and has been done by a couple members on club4ag.com but if you ask me the 16V head will flow just as good if you want boost.Another thing is that the 20V pistons have grouves for the 5 valves in them the 16V only has 4 but should still work on stock lift cams.

i agree with Jzs147-RR... it was done before. the 4agze blocks are identical to the 20V's. the only difference is the piston. but in my opinion it will be more expensive than a forced-fed 16V. but on the other hand also you'll have one exotic set-up, hehe! try searching for more info and try to get some feedbacks on other forums.

bluetop 16V would be my guess as best suitable for boost

lower the compression the better for boosts.
the 4AGZE on the MR2 is 8:1 compression,and the JDM AE92/101 4AGZE are 8.9:1

the Bluetop are 9.5:1 .

if you are putting 20V on the Bluetop Bottom end, you should change the pistons to the 20v piston.

Silver top are 10.5:1 and black top are 11:1

now if you are planning on boosting the 20V, i recommand getting metal head gasket...

IMO, for a swap, i would get a 20V and keep it N/A and change the cam and spring to a higher rate. and get a stand alone computer for higher rev past 10,000 RPM.

or just get a AE92 GZE for the superchaged system.

you can't put a 16v piston on a 20V head.....
