check carefully for vacuum leaks, use soapy water on the connections, or poke around the engine bay with a thin hose and listen for any air leaking...idle air control valves, VSV, see if the dashpot is stuck, EGR, etc

if that doesn't solve the problem, then i would look into the fuel system, dirty fuel filter, check the pressure

all the basic maintainence stuff are ok right? spark plugs, air filter, dizzy cap and rotor?

i checked all the vacuum hoses,.. they all seem to be fine,..unplugged the vsv and it made no difference,.. just put in new plugs.. cap and rotor seems to be fine... i'm wondering if its an O2 sensor problem.
i just put the car on the road 3 weeks ago and it started in the first week.... (after i started revvin it at past 7... )

problem solved...

i took out my throttle body and looked underneath the bypass valve where the coolant goes through and found an rtv sealer that got stuck there. i guess it kept my cold start valve open. once i took it out and put it back in. my idle problem is gone.
so try the same thing and maybe u have something blocking the lines.
now i don't have to feel ashamed at a stop light anymore.... hahaha good luck

TPS sensor

I had the same problem with my honda....it was the thottle position sensor. its that little knob that you turn with the screw driver located by the intake. Some one has probably set it to a higher position than it should be..
