Well after having the tie down and the connector come off the battery every time i make a sharp turn, i decided to move it to the back. Plus it lets the cone have more breathing room. I know Andrew has done it and maybe a few others here. So i wanted to know how simple this task should be. I cant find a battery box on crappy tires site. So where else can i get one? I thought of actually making one. Is the wire removal tedious or a fairly quick job? Do i need to remove a lot of the interior to make this work? Let me know of the process of how this can be accomplished. I have some more questions but cant think of them till the time comes. Thanks for your help in advance.
its easy man, the hardest part is actually getting off your ass and going to buy the stuff.. well to me it was..
go to an audio store and buy up 10 ft of some flexible low gague wire, then to a boating or marine good store for a battery box, crappy tires gots them too. unhook your battery. and throw the box in your trunk. take the wire and put it in the trunk too. presto, now your done!

Hello Everyone
Just a suggestion to make your car faster!!
If you use a Dyno Batt you do not need the Battery box.
It uses the same tech. as the optima batteries.
They weight in at roughly 13 lbs. w/ something like 700/800 cranking amps.
It will save you about 20+ lbs over your stock battery and since you are locating it in the trunk you get a better F/R ballance.
The only bad thing is you can not run your radio real long w/ out the car running.
Not much reserve power in them.
My two cents!!

I belive you can get them from 125-150 one of my club mates has one in his Golf.
It's about the size of a motor cycle battery
but with the cranking amps of a car battery.
Damn things lite as hell too!
I am building my car w/ the "replace w/ better parts once the break" so I am just waiting for my battery to die and put this Dyno Batt in.
If you can't find a supplier I will try to find out who he went threw.
I know they have them up on the net but, can't remember where. Sorry

Andrew! Don't you make it seem as easy as 1, 2, 3..
How did you extend your wires to the trunk? Did you just route the wire through the car or underneath or what? Do me a huge favour and write a bit more in detail.. I remember notcing that your battery wasn't there when you popped your hood, and I was going to ask you, but the subject changed to the Del Sol seats..
I'm kind of thinking of doing it too...
I want to make a cutom p-flow pipe for my car since they don't make them for AE92's!!!

you take the wire from the positive end of the terminal in the engine bay, the positive battery connection. Connect a wire to it, that low-gague fexible wire i was talking about in the previous post. run it along to the fire wall where you see the engine harness go thru the firewall, and push the battery wire thru that hole into the seating compartment. from there I ran it to the fusebox side kickpanel, driverside, down along the door, under the runners, and up beside the rear seat and under the fold-down back rest into the trunk!.
its way easier than you think!
enjoy!

ya man, if anything and you can't squeeze it into the firewall through the wiring harness
just drill a new hole in the wall, and use a gromet so the wire doesn't get spliced on itself.. and then feed it through that.. its really simple.. then just wire it where youw ant (usually under those kick panels) and to the back of your car ( or wherever you want it)
and just to be safe, get some sort of insulated box for the engine bay, where you connect the positive wire from your batt. to the components.. Reason being, power from the terminal could arch and contact with teh ground (body) of your car..
you can pick something up at homedepot..
heh sorry if its confusing.. i'm tired and its freaking 2:30am. studying fora test and woozy
