Want to buy weber 38 or 40 downdraft

Hey, I'm looking to buy a downdraft carb for my 3TC. Anybody have weber 38 or 40's? I'm looking for downdrafts because this is my daily driver and I hear sidedrafts require frequent tuning. Is this accurate? Used parts are better to keep cost down. I need adapter plates, and whatever else for install.
--thanks

I'm going to be selling my Weber 32/36 DGEV in Redline Kit K740 which was made for the 2TC engine.. although the adapter plate fits right onto my 4A-F intake manifold..

Anyway I paid 380 for the kit.. If you are interested in it I'll sell it to you for 300 I've only had it for a month now and driven my car with it probablyt a dozen times.. no racing or anything.. so it's still clean and works perfectly.

if you're just gonna use the car as a daily driver all year long, go with the downdrafts. but if you're gonna start modding the motor later on (ie. high duration cams, stroke it to 2.0L) i would go with the sidedrafts. 40-48's would be good for a high output 3TC. but then again, i also know that a lot guys in florida are running hardcore downdraft set-ups for drag on their 3TC. that's my two cents. goodluck!
