i have a 91 gts, it needs a sunroof motor, winshield wiper arms, all four struts, new antenna, and its giving a little problem when im driving, it bogs in rpms when im driving with the speed limit, but once i punch it, it goes away. please help my sick baby.
Talking about needing parts.. I DO NEED the sun-roof panel as well as some of the panel track parts.. if you have them in GOOD CONDITION (as in no rust) for an '89 SR5 coupe ae92.. let me know.
thank you people for helping my ae92 to walking better, and givin her a chance to see another day.............lol thanks alot guys, this is my second day on this site, and i really like it, yall helped me out alot. thanks
I find it hard to believe that your 91 gts is dying.. mine just hit 290,000kms and it still kicks like the day I got it.. with 211,000 kms. maybe you just need a tune up and stuff.. change your fuel filter, air filter, cap & rotor, plugs and wires, etc.
My GTS isnt really dying, its sick, i need these things to at least not look homless, the sunroof is siliconed shut cause it leaks and the winshield wipers are held on by electrical tape, the ride sucks its soooo stiff i feel every groove in the road, but still it is an amazing car and its tough.
Hah... I've had a piece of acrylic over the sun-roof hole since this past spring.. The guy I bought it from had a plastic tarp over it.. and he just said it needed a motor to work right.. and well eventually after I bought the car and I went to fix the roof and I took off the plastic I saw that all around the edges the panel was rusted.. There was also water trapped under the tarp.. so that didn't help the situation at all..
That and he had it siliconed shut as well.. *sigh* So I just ripped out the panel along.. was trying to fix the sun-roof operation and I noticed that the reason it wouldn't move is because the plastic gears that grip the sliding cable which makes the sun-roof move back and forth.. the teeth were worn down.. the motor works fine.
Toyota wants like 350 for the panel.. if it's true that I can get an aftermarket moon roof installed for 300 then i'm gettin that!
Although it can't be sliding anymore since I have speakers installed now in the cieling over the rear seats.. god makes a sweet fuckin spot for speakers though!
If the rust isn't bad on your sun-roof you can repair it.. unfortunatly though it probably won't be fixable.. as the rust eats away at the edges of the roof.. so it's not like you can just sand it down and bondo it or something.. it's a really crappy roof to be honest.. the way the metal is.. it just like dissapears.. or maybe it's just because they have been rusting for a long time.. idk..
