Fun in the snow

ahhh I took my Rolla out last night for some fun in this Nor'easter snow storm.. it was all well and good.. she handles a LOT better now with the new tires.. I love them.

I keep running the thing to 7K with the new GT-S gauge forgetting that the redline on the SR5 is 6,400 or whatever.. lol.. oh well no issue it isn't hurting my baby.
I wonder at what RPM it becomes critical for the 4A-F.. like if I hit 8K will the pistons shoot out of the engine or what.. ya know.

Anyway.. I've NEVER gotten this car stuckin in the snow.. and I've had it out in over a 1ft.. just the raw RPM's combined with slapping it back and forth in drive/reverse and she always comes out.. infact today I didn't have to do anything but keep it in first and just kept the RPM's high.. it moved right through any snow I hit.. never stalls on me.
She's turning into the off-road rally car I've always wanted.

I got the new fog-lights in.. get this, I drilled out holes in the bumper and installed the fog lights in there and I am putting in thin-wall black ABS tube so it looks professional.. then I will probably find some type of nice looking protective cap or someting to cover the lenses.. It looks really fuckin good with them in the bumper. Under the front white marker lights on the inner edge of them.. installed right inside of the bumper.

Just gotta get her inspected this Monday.. woohoo!

muwahah.. Sorry Murder.. but I disagree.. I've been punishing my tranny for much longer than this.. last year was when i was doing the wicked Drive/Reverse tricks to get outta the snow.. and a few months ago I had my tranny inspected and it was clean.. no problems and the fluid which I believe is the original fluid was still good and clean.

parts can take only so much abuse

U wont be laughing when you're doing that one day and then the tranny jus gives and you dont move forward or reverse anymore

it wont even let you know it's gonna happen, it'll jus happen

pistons shooting out is nothing to worry about....wont happen at 8000rpm. what u may experience is valve float rofl

lol, I drive an auto as well.. I just slap stick though.. This way I can run 1st out higher so I come into 2nd higher in the rpm's so I have more power going.. and even if I didn't slap stick when I stomp it first will run out to like 5-5.4K before it'll shift..

And how do I know when valve float is goin on?

u'll know once ur valvetrain is fucked up
valve float basically=springs not putting enough tension on the cam lobes to compensate for the rotation speed.

which means ur valves arent opening when they're supposed to and not closing when they're supposed to in such a situation.

lol I knew what it is.. just didn't know what I'd expirence.. so basically my springs stop being... springy.. lol.. Oh well that's an excuse for me to put in stronger racing springs

I sure wish I would've got my cams done larger... slightly larger like instead of 244 more like 256 or 260.. oh well

I haven't gotten to take her out on the high-way yet.. so this monday I will.. see what the top speed is..

non interference... rev the shit out of it if you want, valve float isn't a concern for you (if the 4af is the same thing as the 4age, and were talkin about 86's?, ok i read it over and it doesnt seem so)

Hypoid gears dont like reverse, take it easy.

Umm, not really, it doesnt really have anything to do with the cam lobes, its just that the enigne is turning so fast that the valves arent following the profile of the camshaft, because the springs arent that strong, so the valve "jump" after the lobe, making a shrill. It wont kill you valvetrain after few times, but on the long run its not exactly healthy.
