strange vibration...

So okay, I hit this bump like a couple weeks ago and suddenly got this terrible vibration in 'D' so bad that my gas guage needle shook violently. I had to change the driver's side engine mount and the prob was over...till now...

2nite's the first time I noticed that the very same vibration has returned except it only happens when I'm in reverse and my foot's on the brake (the car's in gear but not moving just yet).

Any guesses as to what the prob might be?

i'll guess that the impact caused the tranny to be out of alignment, shifted left or right, or tilted

because i know for manual tranmissions if the whole tranny was installed out of alignment, you'll get major vibrations

I was thinking that but this is the first time I'm feeling this vibration since I changed the mount 2weeks ago.

the only thing I did to it 2day was wash/degrease the engine

ah.. i get the same vibration in reverse.. hmmm although my 2 lateral cross-member engine mounts need to be replaced..
